About the Artist..........

I have been one of the rare, lucky people to have made my way in life solely as an artist.  From the beginning, when I picked up my first crayon and began to draw instead of eating it, it was pretty clear that I would forever be a daydreamer and hopefully, a creator.

After graduating school, I began exhibiting paintings at local art shows, restaurants and banks.  Later, when I became a single parent of two sons, I began to do free-lance illustration and did so for the next 24 years.

At that point, I returned to oil painting, specializing in wildlife and opened a studio/gallery in Waynesville.  Travels for shows and research took me all over this country, to Africa, Asia and Alaska.

Twelve years later I took a sabbatical from painting and became interested in jewelry
designing and beading.  As with all who venture into a bead shop, beading has become an obsession!  The connection with other beaders has been such a bonus.  I like the
sharing and teaching/learning that are  part of making friends around the world in the
beading community.

And just think.....all I ever wanted was a
box of 64 colors!!
